Hi There, I’m Joan…
…..and my definition of “Junk” is not the same as what you will find in the Webster Dictionary!!
junk;
“Items that have been discarded or abandoned that still have great value in the eye of the beholder when given a little TLC.”
” Antiques and Vintage treasures that have lost their value due to small flaws caused by time and unfair treatment!”
” Items, that when properly restored to life, provide fun conversation pieces and beautiful additions to your home decor and decorating style!”
My motto is: “Junk is just Junk until you give it a purpose!”
If you love Antique, Vintage and repurposed treasures (junk) then we already have a lot in common!!
I also love looking through country, farmhouse and vintage decorating magazines. I tear out the pages that speak to my decorating style and use them as inspiration to re-create the furniture, the colors and the “at home” atmosphere that I love!
At the beginning of this journey, my struggle was just trying to re-create what I saw – I was finding that most of the painted furniture pieces were one of a kind and then if you did find one that someone had already painted and wanted to sell, it was fairly expensive! I also looked at commercial made pieces – and those were even more expensive and, of course, not as authentic! That is what led me on this junk~journey ~ learning how to chalk paint my own furniture and home decor and ultimatley the path that led me to becoming a “junk” junkie!! (definition; Always looking for someone else’s junk to become my treasure!)
If your struggle is the same – and you want to create beautiful chalk painted pieces but you are not sure how – or if you want to learn more about decorating with antique and vintage treasures – then I hope that the ideas and information that I have to share with you will be super fun and helpful!!
My goal and passion is to inspire you and to motivate you – to give you the information and instruction you need to be confident in your ability to CREATE and DECORATE!
I want your reality to be the transformation from the Beautiful page in the magazine to Re-creating it in your own home!!
Create the style you love!!
